Building Bellingham Interview
Had a really fun conversation with Leo Cohen on the Building Bellingham Podcast over a bottle of JP Trodden (my personal favorite bourbon).
Leo wanted to hear the story of my career development and then dive in on things like leadership, public speaking, and dealing with failure. I don’t know that I’m an expert on any of these subjects, but shared what I’ve come to learn about them.
It was a lot of fun.
At one point he complemented my pace, as in how quickly (or otherwise) I speak. But as I listen back to this, I’m a little annoyed by how ponderous I sound. I kept thinking: “dude! spit it out!” But maybe others experience that differently.
My favorite part, I think, was when we got into a reflection on the peculiarities of PNW culture, specifically in the workplace. He got me to do a sarcastic impression of a strengths-based boss letting an employee go. Made me chuckle.
